INTRODUCTION

Leonie is a beautifully converted Dutch barge, widely regarded as one of the finest vessels of her type in Europe. Originally built as a working cargo barge, she was later acquired by renowned British actor David Suchet.

Under Suchet’s ownership, Leonie underwent an extensive and meticulous conversion carried out by a respected marine surveyor and specialist craftsmen. The refit transformed the traditional barge into a luxurious floating residence, completed to exceptionally high standards while preserving the character and proportions of the original vessel.

In 2014, the vessel was acquired by her current owner, who has continued to maintain her carefully and operate her on the River Thames. Today Leonie is moored at St Katharine Docks, a historic marina located beside the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The docks are now the capital’s most prestigious marina.

With her distinctive lines, exceptional craftsmanship and notable provenance, Leonie remains a striking presence on the Thames and a rare example of a traditional Dutch barge adapted to the very highest private standards.
